If you have been regularly having foils in your hair to be blonde you may be considering switching to a scalp bleach so let’s talk about the pro’s and con’s.
Scalp bleach can be the best or worst thing you ever chose to do with your hair! A scalp bleach is a VERY delicate process that must be handled with precision and care. Any product overlap (when bleach touches previously lightened hair) can cause damage/breakage.
*Did you know that every time powder lightener (bleach) touches your hair, it permanently destroys 20% of the bonds in the hair…. You heard me correctly, IRRIVERSABLE DAMAGE. I don’t care what they tell you, science is science, you can’t rebuild those bonds!
*So you’ve heard the good and the bad, now let’s talk about the process. We will do your new little regrowth with a powder lightener. We will use the lowest possible oxidiser to make sure we cause minimal damage. If you have your scalp bleach done within 4-6 weeks of your last foils, you are more likely to have a beautiful result with a smooth transition. Wait any longer, and you are headed for GOLD BAND CITY! (It sounds fun, but trust me, you’re gonna hate it!)
Here is a little a secret that you didn’t know, heat makes chemical reactions happen faster, the colour mixed up for your hair is a chemical reaction. SO if you think of your scalp as a lil heater, it can work for you… or against you. If your regrowth is small, then your head heats up the entire colour, it lightens evenly, and you look good! If your regrowth is large, your scalp heats the hair closer to the scalp… the hair farther from the scalp doesn’t get heated, so it remains darker. The result… U-G-L-Y, you ain’t got no alibi, you UGLY! Moral of the story: DON’T STRETCH OUT YOUR APPOINTMENTS!
You’ve done the math, you’re going to do it! Buckle up and get ready for striking, clean blonde hair! Yahoooo! You are now officially a high-maintenance BLONDE BABE!
Side Note: What would happen if you change your mind?? The transition back can be rough. You are now trying to change the solid line of blonde that you created into a soft foiled look…. GOOD LUCK! Ahahah
